Vice President Quality and Reliability, Power Tools
Reporting to the President of Milwaukee Tool Power Tools business unit, the Vice President of Quality and Reliability is responsible for supporting an extensive portfolio of existing products in addition to all new product development.
The primary responsibilities include leading the Power Tool Quality and Reliability organization for the Power Tools business unit in addition to Quality Systems for the entire organization. Additional responsibilities for the role include:
Leading the global Quality and Reliability Engineering functions for the Power Tools business unit consisiting of in-house and outsource finish goods suppliers, as well as internal and external critical component suppliers such as Lithium Ion Battery Cells and Electronics.
Developing, building and leading a team of Reliability , Quality and Supplier Quality Engineers to support new product development and existing products.
Working with cross-functional internal teams and suppliers to proactively lead Cost of Quality improvement efforts.
Leading QMS assessments and the Quality Systems organization.
Leading the Metrology function for the organization.
Lead Quality and Reliability Team from vision, business processes, and strategy to ensure best-in-class quality, relability and product performance.
Leverage traditional and current monitoring, such as social media and third party content, to ensure an ongoing attainment of Quality and Reliability expectations for the Milwaukee brand.
Execute an End-User focused Reliability organization.
Development of a comprehensive strategy to support an expanding and rapidly growing product line.
Lead a team of direct reports in the US with dotted line responsiblilty across our global factories.
Work collaboratively with Engineering, Marketing, Manufacturing and Operations Leaders to set expectations for global quality standards within each function across the Power Tools BU and report out performance towards expectations.
Partner and communicate with Business Product Category Leaders with an established operational rhythm.
Ensure production readiness of all New Product Development projects including system level validation, component and supplier readiness.
Develop the warranty improvement process and proactive quality improvement strategies and implement them globally.
Work with the global internal and external quality teams to develop QC mitigation strategies for high risk specifications.

Driving culture of continuous improvement and accountability throughout the Reliability and Quality operations, and adjacent business functions.
Partnering with Operations, Business Unit and Technical Leaders to define and implement end-to-end Quality and Reliability strategy.
Developing and driving a talent management strategy; ie, recruiting and retaining the skills and capabilities needed for success while continuing to develop the Reliability and Quality organization to possess strong competency and leadership skills.
Supporting rapid growth across the markets by establishing practices that ensure consistent best-in-class products and digital services.
Partnering with our Business Leaders in expanding and deepening relationships with the company's current and future supply partners.
Rendering judgments and making timely decisions in alignment with business objectives, strategies and tactics as well as enabling active teamwork across the business.
Promptly reconciling and communicating changes in plans, programs, conditions, requirements of marketplace, competitive activities, issues and accomplishments with the appropriate staff to support the Power Tools business unit.
Establishing, analyzing and reporting key quality metrics to all appropriate functions on a regular basis.
Ensuring End User needs are identified and objectively met through measurement and monitoring.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years in a Sr. Leadership role in a mid-sized or enterprise manufacturing organization
ASQ Reliability Engineering Certification (ASQ-CRE).
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Experience with new product development processes emphasizing design,manufacturing, quality, test and reliability activities.
Previous relevant experience with Design of Experiments, life data analysis, and other related statistical tools and software.
Willingness and ability to travel 20% of time.
Comprehensive understanding of Metrology function and requirements.
Prior experience with fast-growing double-digit growth company.
Prior experience supporting a global manufacturing footprint.
Communicates in an open, direct and candid style to establish quick and effective credibility within team, as well as with a diverse set of business leaders; the ability to collaborate and influence is critical.
Prior experience managing a global manufacturing and supplier quality organization.
Experience in developing, executing and managing operating and capital budget.
